About Dan Mcgregor
Experienced Baltimore, Maryland Economist
Based in Baltimore, Maryland, Dan Mcgregor earned his MA in international political economy at the American University Washington, DC. While at the university, Dan Mcgregor wrote several theses on developmental economic policies.
Between 2012 and 2014, Dan Mcgregor worked as an economist at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. While at the bureau, he measured the number of jobs in every sector of the economy every month. He also assessed the hours employees worked on these jobs, comparing them to the wages they received. He then used the figures to perform a benchmarking process that reconciles monthly estimates to a more accurate quarterly employment census.
He was also a part of the Special Product Team that designed and developed “Tinder for jobs.” Tinder for Jobs is an application the bureau deploys to help young people find job opportunities and chart different career paths.
Dan Mcgregor runs SPHC Records, a Baltimore-based record label, when he is not involved in economics. He also loves to eat barbeques. He has traveled all over continental America, tasting regional barbeque styles.
